Product Lifecycle & Embodied Carbon

With the growing demand for sustainable lighting to reach Australia’s Net Zero targets, we have taken this challenge seriously. We assess our products using the CIBSE TM65 ANZ methodology to precisely calculate embodied carbon. We carefully choose materials to add to our selection, and we know exactly how much carbon is involved in the lifespan of each fixture. We maximise reuse and resource efficiency, lowering the carbon impact at every stage to effectively “close the loop.”

We believe sustainability starts at home. Our state-of-the-art Australian manufacturing facility is proudly supported by a 100kW rooftop solar energy system, supplemented by renewable energy purchased directly from the grid. By investing in green technologies at the manufacturing level, we ensure the luminaires we supply to Australian offices, schools, and hospitals have the lowest possible environmental footprint before they even leave the factory.

As a project-centric company, we avoid mass warehousing to prevent dead stock. Our luminaires are made to order locally, ensuring absolutely nothing goes to waste. Not only does local manufacturing drastically reduce transport carbon miles and supply chain risks, but it also ensures that our lighting is tailored perfectly to your specific commercial project needs.

The Greenlux Retrofit Scheme

True circularity means repairing and maintaining over time. We now offer full refurbishments and upgrades to increase the lifespan of your existing luminaires. Rather than throwing away entire fixtures, we take old fluorescent fittings, retain the architectural body, and completely overhaul the internal system with highly efficient smart LED technology. This saves money, heavily reduces running costs, and slashes the operational carbon of the luminaires, keeping valuable materials out of landfill.
